Angelica & Pearl Whitening Mask TCM Singapore

This whitening mask is made from a Traditional Chinese Medicine and TCM Singapore formula that’s been used centuries ago. The key ingredients are Angelica Dahurian and Pearl Powder.

Angelica Dahurian (Bai Zhi, 白芷)

In TCM Singapore and chinese tcm singapore, this herb has a warm nature and works on the Lung, Stomach and Spleen meridians. As the lungs are key to our skin health, herbs that work on the Lung meridians are usually great for the skin. Its key actions are to dispel wind and relieve pain; rids dampness; relieves swelling and drains pus. It is commonly used topically for freckles, acne, hyperpigmentation and other blemishes. It also moistures the skin and relieves itching.

Bai Zhi has a good action in dispersing swelling and expels pus; here, so it is commonly used for painful swollen sores and abscesses. To disperse swelling in the early stage, it can be combined with heat-clearing toxin-resolving medicinal herbs such as Honeysuckle flower (Jin Yin Hua). After pus has formed, combine it with other chinese traditional medicinal herbs such as Ginseng, Huang Qi and Dang Gui to expel pus. Bai Zhi’s action in dispelling wind, reducing itch and swelling also makes it suitable for people with eczema, dry itchy skin, vitiligo, psoriasis or dermatitis.

Bai Zhi can be used internally or externally. It can be used in tea, soaked in wine or cooked in porridge and soups. For external use, it is grounded into powder and used for face masks.

Pearl powder has been used centuries ago by royalty for its beauty benefits on the skin and also calming properties. Pearl powder is rich in amino acids, peptides, minerals and antioxidants and is a rich source of calcium too.

Pearl powder benefits the skin through its whitening effects, clears heat and toxins from the skin and prevents acne, cleanses blackheads and minimises pores. When taken orally, pearl powder also stimulates the production of collagen in our body.
